About the role

A national fiber infrastructure provider is seeking a Project Controls Coordinator to serve as the central point for intake, tracking, mapping support, and coordination across fiber-relocation projects throughout the United States. This cross-functional role supports operational consistency and visibility from project intake through closeout. You will work with project managers, regional teams, engineering partners, vendors, and field resources to keep project information accurate, current, and easy to act on. Key responsibilities: - Monitor and manage relocation project intake by region. - Create and maintain accurate project records in the internal project management system. - Verify required intake fields, supporting documents, and status updates. - Coordinate with project managers and engineering partners to maintain timely project information. - Serve as a liaison among internal teams, vendors, engineering partners, and field resources. - Maintain conflict assessments, funding approvals, developer communications, invoice support, and cost-recovery documentation. - Create KMZ files showing project limits at project kickoff. - Define project boundaries using available plan sets and apply approved file-naming standards. - Upload mapping files to project folders and connect them to the appropriate project records. - Track projects from intake through closeout. - Prepare reports for regional and national leadership. - Support process improvement and consistent project-controls practices. What we’re looking for

• Required
• - 2–4 years of experience in project coordination, telecommunications, utilities, construction, or a related field.
• - Familiarity with GIS and mapping tools such as Google Earth, KMZ/KML, or ArcGIS.
• - Proficiency with spreadsheet, collaboration, and document-management tools.
• - Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
• - Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• - Ability to interpret site plans, transportation drawings, and utility as-built records.
• Preferred
• - Experience in fiber-optic telecommunications or utility engineering.
• - Familiarity with project-tracking platforms, Smartsheet, Salesforce, or similar tools.
• - Understanding of fiber construction and relocation terminology.
